Teams: JON, Jim, PS I Love You, Stroup, FMR, The Red Heads, Vibrating Tubes of Gun Barrel, Giraffe and Emersyn.

Despite hurricane force winds blowing down off the mountains, nine intrepid teams braved the elements to wage a battle of wits during Buzzwordz trivia at the Lazy Dog in Erie. Team Jim and FMR were battling it out for the lead early, but the Vibrating Tubes of Gun Barrel were not far behind. Team Giraffe had the best animal-themed hat of the night, but it wasn’t enough to get them the win. At the end of the 3rd Round, it was FMR and the Vibrating Tubes battling it out with the Tubes eventually claiming victory.

We’ll be back at the Lazy Dog on Wednesday at 7pm for another night of Buzzwordz Trivia. Hope to see you there!

When the weight of the snow collapsed the one section of the roof and those two tables and that waitress where trapped I thought the evening was over!  But I was wrong.  No obstacle natural or man made was gonna stop the steam of all our buzzwords teams this Wednesday.  The toppling power of ten teams made for a memorable session of trivia.  The competition was stiff and the beer was flowing.  Team Bamf, Team Pinky Loves Wrath, The Dude, Team Matt H., Team Ponies, Team Golden Tees, Team Hittle, Team D. Haze, Team Blood Suckers and Team More Snow thanks for coming out and making a snow day a lot warmer. Congratulations to Team Bamf for scoring 3rd place, Team Golden Tees for 2nd and Team More Snow for 1st!  If it wasn’t for the noisy needy people trapped underneath the rubble  of the roof collapse we could have actually danced that conga line with the lovely Caitlynn.  And I know you boys wanted to.  Next Wednesday there will be the Argentinian woman’s ice skating team doing armpit checks on all the late comers, stragglers and brainiacs.  Don’t miss out.  Thanks you guys. -Jamie

Huge night at Jose O’Shea’s and it was a TON of fun!

The Butler Did It took home Round 1 and Round 2!   Jennifernilla and Team Winning were always biting at their ankles, just a point or two behind.

In the end, The Butler Did It & Smarty Pants took home the Jose O’Shea’s giftcards!!

The highlight of the night, for me anyway, was the awesome unicorn drawings done by none other than Awesome Unicorn!  Check them out!

Woody’s Wood-Fired Tavern on Evans was PACKED for Trivia on Thursday night. 6 teams competed for some great Woody’s gift certificates and some shots! Care Bear Stare stepped up to the challenge this week, but there can only be one and Hairy Poodini took home the grand prize. We had some players new to trivia, Rockie’s Blew It and The Dukes and they both scored high. Jeepers Creepers kept it close the whole game, just narrowly losing the third round. Way to get your groove on at Woody’s Wood-Fired Tavern!

Woody’s Wood-Fired Tavern on Evans had a great crowd of people for Trivia on Thursday night. 4 teams competed for shots and some great Woody’s gift certificates and it was neck-and-neck all night! There can only be one champion of the night, and this week it was Golden Rod. We had some players new to trivia, We’re Awesome, and they did fantastic. Bazinga, a team of one, proved that sometimes even one man with one mind can keep pace with entire teams.

Shooting for Penultimate kept things so close it was nearly a photo finish, but Golden Rod was our Round One AND Round Two winner, so they enjoyed the benefits of several free rounds of drinks.

Old Chicago in Superior had an ENORMOUS crowd of people for Trivia on Friday night. 17 teams participated for beer and awesome Old Chicago gift certificates but, as you know, there can be only one true trivia champ. Tonight’s amazing winner was Last Place, one of our regular players. They narrowly beat out Dr. Evil’s Brain in a tie-breaker for the game winner. So close, so smart!

Dr. Evil’s Brain was our Round One AND Round Two winner, so they got plenty of prize beer. Don’t feel too bad for them!

Also playing on this huge, crazy night were Sandy Cervix, Meanies, BJ, Just Smile and Nod, Spearheads (feat. Justin Bieber), Last Place, Dr. Evil’s Brain, Cataclysmic, Know Nothings, PZ&J, The Mob, Simpsons, Great Gambini, Paul and the Wampoles, Lone Wolf, Bonder Jams and Team American (*bleep* yeah!).

Due to an unforeseen incident involving my iphone (um, I dropped it and it broke), I wasn’t able to get any pictures of my players on Friday night. Trust me, though, they are all very attractive and photogenic people. Rowr.

Anyway, the trivia competition at Old Chicago in Superior is getting fiercer and fiercer every week! These guys are like tigers, if tigers knew random facts about Sports, Geography and People. Playing on Friday night, we had Last Place, Graveyard of Ale, Sno Flake, Hippies with Guns, Urinal Glove, Worse Than Last Week, Violent Torpedo of Truth, That’s What She Said and I Wish This Microphone Was….

Round One went to Violent Torpedo of Truth who took it by a huge margin. Things got closer in Round Two, which was a tie-breaker between Worse Than Last Week (who were actually doing WAY better this week than they were last week!), Violent Torpedo of Truth, That’s What She Said and I Wish This Microphone Was… with the win going to That’s What She Said.

The winner of the game was I Wish This Microphone Was A… with Violent Torpedo of Truth coming in Second in a grand finale tie-breaker. w00t!

My players at Old Chicago in Superior may not have known a lot about infomercial gurus, but most of them were Arrested Development fans, so a George Bluth/Cornballer answer submitted by Urinal Cake sparked a lot of AD quoting and chicken dances. It was pretty cool.

Ok, down to business. Round One was dominated by On Tour With Charlie (formerly known as the Monkey). Round Two came down to a tie-breaker between Urinal Glove and Hole Family with Urinal Glove for the win. Hole Family ended up taking the game and I have to comment on their *insane* quickness. Those guys freakin’ sprinted their answers up to me before I’d even finished reading the questions. Wow.

Also playing we had Busted Bracketz, Four Times the Steak (I don’t know what that means, but it sounds delicious), Last Place (who demonstrated ALL of the Arrested Development chicken dances. It was amazing. I so wish my phone had video capabilies to do these guys justice…), No Fly Zoners, Urinal Cake, World Team, Hole Family, Holla, and Charlie Sheen School of Winning.

I kinda expected there to be a couple of teams named after Charlie “Capt. Crazy” Sheen, but was very surprised at TWO teams whose names involved urinals? Weird. I love my teams 🙂

Well, Team Winning! totally won trivia at Old Chicago in Superior on Friday. I don’t know if it is the power of positive thinking or just channeling some of that Charlie Sheen tiger blood or whatever, but the guys and girls of Winning! rocked it.

Round One went to Last Place, who beat out 2 Ninjas and a Little Lady and Winning! to claim the pitcher o beer. Round One was another tie-breaker between 2 Ninjas and a Little Lady and 7 Evil Exes and this time the ninjas took the pitcher.

The end of the game saw FOUR teams tied for first, so we had to do an epic tie-breaker to determine who was going home with the gift certificates and who was just going home. Last Place, Winning!, Bar and 7 Evil Exes were all rarin’ to go and break that tie but Winning! won it with 2 Ninjas and a LIttle Lady coming in second.

I’m glad the Ninjas won. They drew me little pictures of ninjas on all their answer sheets. They were my faves all night.

Also playing, we had regulars The Spearheads (minus Justin Bieber tonight!), We Luv Woody, Did Clarissa Really Explain it All and The Aristocrats, who kindly wrote me a version of the Aristocrat joke on the back of several of their answer sheets. Don’t know that joke? Google it, because I can definitely NOT put it up here. This is a family blog, yo.
