And video is BACK! Whoo hoo! It was wonderful to be back to normal operations again. We had a great turn out, also! There was Morty Feldman Eyes, Orton of Fun, RCJ4L, Mmm…Beer, Honey Badger, Teacher’s Pets, and Star. Morty Feldman Eyes took first place for round one, round two, and first place for the game. Orton of Fun took second place, and Honey Badger, after taking a 6 week break from trivia, returned strong with third place. It was a great night, as usual. We will see you next week Thursday at 7pm!

We had yet another night of no video. ūüė¶ However, the teams did phenomenal even with only having my mumbly voice to listen to. We had Straight Gaze, Experiencing Technical Difficulties, The Hood, Team M, and A&J. Per the usual, Experiencing Technical Difficulties took first place for rounds 1 and 2 as well as the $30 for first place, The Hood took the $20, and Straight Gaze took third place and the $10 certificate. Everyone was extremely patient again, and I think everyone had a great night of trivia. Thanks, teams! I hope to see you next week.

As everyone was aware, Thursday night marked the return of football! Which meant a packed bar and lots of beer flowing. We had a unique night in the fact that we only did trivia during commercial breaks and played two rounds instead of three. Everyone was very patient with my running up and down the bar countless times to switch over the music. We had a lot of new faces this week. There was The Flying Hellfish, Unforgetables, Clubfoot Ballstars, Commercial Winners, Team JoJo, Buehler…Buehler, Wicso, Club B, PatDen Team, Double D’s, and Speghetti Cookie. Buehler…Buehler won round one and took first place for the night. Club B¬†took second place for the game. We had to enter into a 3-way tie breaker for third place between Wisco,¬†Spaghetti¬†Cookie, and Clubfoot Ballstars¬†with Wisco¬†taking the third place prize.

We had an exciting week this week with two tie breakers. There were 9 teams: In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash, Time 2 Go, Redneck, I Need $, Team JoJo, Fear Boner, AFB, Off Constantly, and Miami Sucks. In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash took first round with no challenge, we had a three way tie breaker for the winner of second round between In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash, Fear Boner, and AFB with AFB taking the pitcher of beer. For the game In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash took first place, Fear Boner took second, and we had another tie breaker between Team JoJo and AFB with AFB taking third for the game. Nice work, everyone!

We have been having an amazing turnout these past few weeks! Maybe the beautiful weather just draws the crowd to the bar, maybe it was the playoffs…whatever it was, it was a great week for trivia! We had¬†In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash, Team Indiana, Team JoJo, Brothers, Supa Dupa, BDWA, AFB, Fear Boner, and team Rhombi¬†playing.¬†In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash¬†took first place,¬†Supa Dupa¬†took second, and¬†BDWA¬†took third place. I love seeing the regulars as well as seeing new faces every week.

Once again, a GREAT week! We had Team Solo, Red Neck, In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash, Team Ramrod, Fear Boner, and Itchy joining in on the third round. In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash took first place, Redneck took second place, and Team Solo took third place. Never underestimate the power of pure guessing. It is amazing how many points some teams earned by making up answers (that just happened to be right). Partial credit in the third round becomes as useful as it was in your high school math class. All in all I like to think everyone had a great night, and I best see you all this Thursday for another exhilarating trivia night!

The night started out a little chaotic ‚Äď we had to improvise a new set up for me. Thanks for everyone‚Äôs patience and some help from some players and the staff; we were able to start just a few minutes late. What started out as a small amount of teams, we ended up with a great turnout. We had the Torpedoes of Truth, Redneck, Hell of Bust!, WB-57 Team, Discovery Channel, Hee-Haw, Your Sister, and America playing. The Torpedoes of Truth took first place, Redneck took second, and America took third place. I missed you guys last week! It sure felt great to be back.

Subbing at OC’s Arapaho Crossing was super fun! Such a lovely bunch of teams! And some pretty spiffy prizes too, I must say. Round one kicked off with a winning family team, Bravo, while the Lumberjacks stepped it up to win round 2 in a tiebreaker. We had an exciting tiebreaker for the overall win, but in the end it was AFB that came in first, winning $30 to OC!
Congrats teams, hope to see you again!

Wow, what a fantastic crowd we had at the Urban Sombrero Saturday night!

All the usual suspects…I mean regulars, were there: Chase & Mike, Delerium, and Do Me Dirty! and they were joined by Spandau Line Dance, Gearheart, the Babettes, and the Jaybirds (Vandelay Industries incognito) for a rollicking good triva night.

Round I was close throughout, a real slugfest.  Delerium, with the help of a couple of lovely assistants, squeaked out the victory.

Round II was a hard-won victory for the Babettes, even with Gearheart taking their tools and heading home early on and Spandau Line Dance , being¬† British, having a hard time with the Americana questions.¬† Once again the teams fought it out within a point or two of each other to the bitter end and Babette‘s victory surprised them most of all.

Round III took a toll on the hostess’ froggy voice, but we all sallied forth and watched as Delerium proceeded to wipe the floor with the other teams’ tears.¬† A huge round for Delerium, and the game win with an impressive 47 points.

Congrats to all teams and thanks for not choosing Buzzwords trivia at the Urban Sombrero for what you’re giving up for Lent!¬† See you next Saturday!
