S, M, L Mexicans - you guess which is which

'the team formerly known as'... Phil Collins for President

Hanzilla - bringing in reinforcements

Girlfriends - an amazing answer for Bonus Beer Q?

Bolivian Hard Hat - ringers? I don't think so.

Norwegian Refugee with 'help' from Carlito
The OC Thornton Management crew (S, M, L Mexicans) was off duty and out to prove a point this last Thursday.
They rocked the first round! Up until the last question they had a perfect score and only missed one of the last double question. However, we found that due to incorrect use of the bar staff as runners they had to be disqualified and Phil Collins for President ended up with the win.
8 teams competed in that first round, and we only lost 1 team heading into round 2 – Shawn’s Jenny – which is too bad for me since they were making good use of style points and keeping me entertained.
Hanzilla had a great string of right answers to win round 2 handily. But then missed a string of answers in round 3 to take him out of the running.
Girlfriends were playing half-heartedly until the Bonus Beer Question came up. We were looking for the team to answer closest to the tie-break question and Girlfriends nailed the 1.3 Milllion answer on the nose! Incredible.
Team Huskers having redeemed last week’s prize, dodged out before round 3 got underway, along with Girlfriends, and One-Eyed Wonder Weasels and Bi’s and Tri’s took their place.
So 7 teams were armed with paper and pens for the 3rd round battle. But S, M, L Mexicans were up to their old tricks, i.e. providing a lot of right answers. They tied with Phil Collins for 1st but due to an issue with hanging chads on the questions from Florida, we had to recount and award the prize to Phil Collins solely. So sorry Larry and Dennis!
Likewise top prize of the night was split, since S/M/L was out of the mix, between Phil Collins and Norwegian Refugee. Bolivian Hard Hat, with a new team, finished in 3rd just out of the running.
I’m glad my voice held out, and we had a good competitive and patient crowd.
We’ll see you all back next week. Yes?
Ciao for now,
– Keith
