Not a fan of the live lobsters January 16, 2009

Tonight at Jay’s trivia I witnessed the before and after stages of a lobster’s life. Each lobster that was sent to the kitchen for cooking was brought to my attention, way to close for comfort, which would explain all that squealing into the microphone. I guess I’m just not a fan of lobsters that are still alive with wiggling claws and antenna.

Anyways, we’ve been giving out some awesome Jaegermeister and Coors gear–all sorts of signs, hats, t-shirts, and more. Great job to Stray Katz and Team BirdFishKiss, our (nearly-tied) first and second place teams.

Team Spaghetti, a mother-daughter team, joined us tonight for the first time—sorry I missed you for photos, hopefully I’ll catch ya next time.

The Twigs and Berries joined us again, earning some quality points in rounds 2 and 3. You can see Kramer (bartender) in the background with the newest addition to the Jay’s uniform—a cowboy hat in celebration of the National Stock Show. Kramer was very excited about his hat.

Team Kristin went strong through round 2. The lost in the round 1 tie, but flipped the correct answer (61 not 16!), which was pretty funny and ironic. Apparently you guys can hear me when you're out on the deck between rounds, so I'll have to stop talking about you ;)

The Stray Katz came in first tonight and celebrated their victory with a lobster dinner (note the lobster claw peace sign). I definitely prefer lobsters that are cooked and laid out on a nice dinner plate over the ones that are wiggling around when they take them out of the tank.

Team BirdFishKiss joined us tonight and prove themselves as the Stray Katz's second generation. You can sense the intense rivalry between mother and son on the left in this photo.
