Where was I and how did I get there.. That was the theme of the night as I rushed over to start trivia as I was running a bit late.. I was at the Rockies game and tossed a few beverages before, during, and after. Before I knew it, trivia time was about to start.

We had five teams play which was alot better than last week. The bar was pretty full of people wanting and having fun on a great night for Buzzwordz trivia.

The team, Quazimodo, did really well. In fact, they won the 25$ gift certificate for the overall winner. Lots of knowledge on that team, as usual. Isnt it about time that even with a name change they should start being generous with the winnings?

Team McOld People, are always there each and every week. Love when they show because they bring some ample knowledge and fun. I think they came in second place, but I cant be sure.

Best team name went to Scratch and Sniff. What we needed to scratch and sniff was never expressed, but I wasnt going to try either. They were on time since they got flagged for being late last week. They mustve gotten that new watch. They came in third place with nothing to show for it.

A favorite team each week is The Guys Over There. The full crew showed up and what can you say about them, except that they are consistantly at the bar ready for trivia and winning beers. Great job again guys.

The Goombas, was possibly the scariest team of all. Make sure you dont make Megan mad or she will stab you with her arsenal of pens. They started strong, but alas, work called and Mike and Megan had to go back to serving the guests of the pub. Better luck next week kids.

Good morning, good afternoon and goodnight. It was that kind of day yesterday at the Irish Pub. We only had eight players show for live trivia and we did it in speed round. Just like this post..

I brought the camera in to take pics of the teams and Ive come to find out that my camera stinks. So for the time being, no pictures will be posted till the new camera comes in from Amazon.com.

Lets start with the teams for the night shall we?

Team Walo came in first place all three rounds and by the luck of the Irish, they also won the game. I wouldve never have guessed it. Dean Wormer said it best, “I hate those guys.”

In second place was the returning squad of, The Guys Over There. They had a rough first round but actually did well the second round which is usually their weak point. Great job guys, even if your cars are built overseas. HaHa.

In third place, yet regretably last, were the fantastic team name of, Friends of Grand Master Squeege. Even though they were a little late to the party, it was a valiant effort on their part by making it close to the very end. Lets hope that their watch is correct for next time. Maybe we should get them an atomic watch that is never wrong.

Hello everyone, its Luigi, your favorite live trivia host writing the blog from my easy chair as last night was a raucous evening.

We had six teams show and it was a showdown of epic proportions as we had to use two tiebreakers for the first time ever!

Team The Lovely Ladies of Lacrosse came in first place and yes they were indeed lovely. Talk about handling a stick! They came down to party and party the ladies did. The second and third rounds were a butt kicking all around, good thing since the first round didnt do them any favors. Im hoping that they come back soon, even with their husbands whom they kicked to the curb in favor of actually winning. Great job ladies..

In second place by only three points was The Guys Over There. They are becoming quite the regular squad and its only getting better as they are oh so close to being overall champs. But they did win round two and got free beers for their effort. Its always a plus when they show up because they are one knowledgeble group. Great job guys!

In third place, The Regulars, did really well with only two players. And yet, only missing out by six points to be in first place. They did have a tie breaker question in the first round and they were close, but not close enough. I think I bought them a mercy beer..

Much thanks to our Hosts, Carl and Kelly. Without their generosity, we wouldnt have a place to have much fun on Wednesday nights. Hope to see all of you and your friends at Pogue Mahones next week.

Challenging yet so satisfying. No I’m not talking about my love life, but last nights trivia session. It turned out to be a great evening for everyone that played as copius amounts of liquid beverage refreshment was poured. Even the Vice Squad showed up to see what the commotion was.

We had five teams show and the top three teams by the end of the night were only a few points apart from all claiming the grand prize, a 25$ gift certificate provided by our hosts.

The winning team, The Guys Over There, trounced everyone in the second round and by the third round were holding a three point lead to grab the final prize. I have to give them a round of applause for the best answer of the night. The question had to do about three King Kong movies, and their answer was, “Three girls, one Kong”. I about fell out of my chair. Classic..

Now I know Im gonna get some feedback on the winning team because the team of Harlem Crackheads, actually did win, but since they are employed by the bar, they couldnt take the prize. So we will officially recognize them as coming in second place, but we know who the real winners are.. Mike and Megan are officially on the clock as the best brother/sister team since Reggie and Cheryl Miller played basketball in college and the pros. If you have any questions about transvestites, ask Mike, he knows. Megan really knows her trivia, good partner if you can get her.

The last team that came in the money was the fabulous looking duo of McMom/McDaughter. If anyone can get me their numbers, that would be a beverage to that person. Lol. They have come in almost every week and its always a treat to have them playing as both of them know their trivia well. For the second week in a row, the lovely ladies have come oh so close to winning the main prize, but I do make sure that they are well taken care of with beverages. Next week I know that they will come in first place as long as the second round doesnt do them in like it has the previous three weeks.

Thanks for everyone showing up and not giving me to much grief on the questions. I cant wait to see everyone there again next week as we kill more brain cells.

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your trivia engines!

Hi again, its Luigi, your trivia host with the most in Parker, Co where we are consistantly bringing in scores of players who want in on the excitement that is LIVE TRIVIA.

For three out of four weeks, one team has raised the bar when it comes to killing the weak brain cells, the team of Da Vic which last night came as Drunk 1 & 2 wow’ed the crowd with their competitiveness and knowledge. I know im starting to wonder if they are actually even human?! They won all three rounds and got the 25$ gift certificate so graciously provided by the bar.

In second place was a team that didnt even want to play initially. The Jammies brought their special brand of PJ’s to the bar and it showed. They really need to sew the flap in the back.

My favorite team name of the evening was, La Cosa Nostra. Im just glad that there wasnt any horses heads on the bar after the evening. They came in third place but only missing out on first by a few points.

Of course, the Guys Over Here, showed up and did well for the questions asked. I know that some of them were a little tough.

The last team that showed up to play was Red Curl. This twosome did try to win some beers, maybe next week Ill buy you two a couple.

Overall, it was another outstanding effort by all that played. Im really excited about the teams that show on a regular basis and to all the new teams, keep showing up and beer will be had by all at some point.

Shout Out to the Pope!

It was a dark and snowy night, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.. Who are we kidding, we rocked the house!

Pogue Mahone’s Irish Pub is now three weeks into hosting trivia night and it keeps getting better and better. We have had four teams show up each week and with the other teams beginning to show, its only going get more nuttier.  

Team Two Guys & A Machena took top honors last night and won the 25$ gift card and it wasnt easy. There was a couple of questions that stumped them in the first round but by the third round, they were running away with it.

Team Kelly was in first place through two rounds, but by the third and decisive round she had tapered off a bit. But we cant give her to much grief as she is one of the pub owners. We still love her.

Team McFamily, formally Team McMom/McDaughter, did really well also and this was their third week straight killing weak brain cells and they almost pulled it out in the end but actually ended up in third place. The points between first and third was only three points so you can see that we get really competitive.

Thanks for everyone faithfully showing up. I hope that the rounds of beers that were provided assisted you in playing and having a fun time. I always look forwards to seeing everyone there. See you next Wednesday at 8pm sharp.

Hello all!!

Its your new friendly Sicilian Luigi reporting from the newest and best Irish Pub in Parker, CO. This was our second night there and it was another doozy of a party! We had 8 teams vying for free adult beverages and a hefty gift card during the evening and the competition was fierce.

The team of DA Vic ruled for the second week in a row and got the gift card, but they were really pushed for that by the new team of McMom/McDaughter. Those two lovely ladies really did well and they did win round three and got some frosty Nectar of the Gods for their hard work.

Team Rattlesnake also did really well in that third round. They needed a couple of rounds to get the weak brain cells out of there, cause thats what we do, we kill weak brain cells.

Cant forget the team, The Guys Over There. They were over here, but they moved. and did alot better once they did.

Overall, it was a great night with plenty of liquids flowing, the beer kind.. And there was 99% participation, I need some more teams to show up and keep us company and push that number up to 100% full bodily contact!
