Thanks to everyone who joined me at Old Chicago Wheatridge! Once again team E.L.E took the reigns and stole first place! The game was a close one and so were our two teams, neck and neck to win the $25. It was against Mezzz and Dave. Dave won by one question!
Make sure to tell your friends…and see you Monday

We played some Monday Night Football Trivia at Jackson’s. Like usual, I let the trivia crowd pick my team. They chose the Steelers for me. After I started talking shit on the team, they finally made a comeback and won.
We had six teams playing tonight. People started to wander out as the game went on. Not only was it past their bed times, but the game went into overtime. Since the football game went into over time, so did the trivia game. I was hoping we wouldn’t have double over time, cause I would have run out of questions. And if I ran out of questions, I would have just asked you questions about make up or something.
We ran the same drink specials tonight, $5 PBR Pitchers (not a bad deal), $5 Jager Bombs, and $2 Moose Drool Pints. We didn’t get any shot specials, much to many people’s disappointment.
Our winners this week were second place from last week. They have a different name, but they still look the same. Whatever Damnit! took the game with a two point lead. Very close to the end of the football game. They promised me they’d be back next week. They’re even gonna leave work early to get a table in a couple of weeks. That’s commitment! Now only if I could find a man that was as commited to me as he was football!
Second place was claimed by Ax Da Geek. They are actually from Pittsburg and in town on business for a couple of days. I guess work still happens even when you’re team is playing MNF at home. Funny thing about them that they’re out of towners. Let’s see what’s in their suitcase: toothbrush, clean underwear, freshly pressed suit, and Steelers jersey. That’s packing and prioritizing. Hope you guys enjoy your stay in Denver!
Team CM, formerly “Cougar Hunters” won third prize. The team started out two guys. They added another guy. Then there was a guy at the corner that kept giving him answers, so they recruited him. All three original guys left and left the corner guy and his ladies to finish the game. They won a PBR grab bag for third prize. I snooped in the bag and saw some hats and bandanas and I believe a t-shirt. You guys know where to find us next week!
If there was a fourth prize, it would have gone to R&A. They started out just two guys. Added another. Original guys left. Sounds familiar, huh. Nothing like leaving when the team you’re rooting for is losing, cause you know, they ended up winning! I’m sorry it was past your bed time. Sunday games start earlier, but I don’t host on those nights.
Bunters were waiting and waiting for a shot special. They weren’t too sure of the answers, so kept putting random things. They took the answer for number one and put it on the answer sheet for number two. Like we’d have the same answer twice. Good way to throw you off. Hmm…
They played for a while and then had to go to softball. Jager Bombs played only for like an hour. They promised to be back next week. They also plan to stay longer as soon as their season is over. Maybe they get to stay the whole game when the Bronco’s are playing. Maybe they’ll even sit inside some time
Well that was the night. Thanks for not leading me a stray with the Steelers.
See you next Monday at 6:30 Vikings vs. Saints

You know it’s not like these guys are up against a bunch of slouches. Even the guys in the kitchen kick butts in trivia at the Ogden Street South. Team Platypus cruised to another victory Sunday evening. They even got my bonus Cheers question about Harry Anderson! We had a lot of new faces and old last night mixing it up in a well-rounded night of trivia. New team Reverse Camel Toe took 2nd while Team Michael Bolton dba No Talent Ass Clowns were able to round up enough brains at the end of the bar. to take third. STD Free was barely edged out of a tab. McPain/JObama showed up late and still made a run. We Suck at Pool didn’t totally suck at trivia. German Coast Guard did great for a couple team. Deez Nuts gave it up early. Staph got busy.
Check us out every Sunday at Ogden Street South at 7:30 for $2 Coors. You know I’ve been thinking, what the fuck is a reverse camel toe anyway?

Twas the night of a CU loss and all were a mess……All were in morning and not sure if they could pass this test.
A poet I’m not but were sure had some fun……And Frumuda was the team who came through and won.
All poetics aside Frumuda won round 2 and the 1st place over all.
Taking round 1 was Kenny I keep waiting for them to have some reinforcements come with them.
Round 3 went to a team I know was in morning as they are students but they alway manage to win at least one round a night when they show up. Backdoor, no cry babies came through again with one win.
We had one new team join in late in round one but ened up taking the 2nd place over all and that was Ninja Ed. Hopefully winning a certificate will bring them back to join us agian in the future.
It was a quite night at the Broomfield OC…….But plenty to partake in beer drinking which led them to pee….
Next week will soon be here so don’t anyone fret……I hope we beat Texas but I’m not gonna bet…..
Win or loose there is always a place…..Where someone will listen to you plead your case….
See you all at the Broomfield OC

A lot of comings and goings on this night, so each round seemed like a different match up.
Out of 7 teams only 3 were there for the entire night.
In first round we had a 3 way tie for second between Sullagoons, 3 Amigos, and Hawkeyes. All three just 1.5 points off the lead. And Sullagoons only hung around for the first round… too bad, you were in the hunt for prizes.
Big Ballers made it through the night but it was apparent from early
on that their forté was entertaining the crowd with their answers.
Round 2 featured two add’l teams – Team Challenged and Team Tim. Team Challenged became the new bar clowns and kept us laughing question to question.
3 Amigos made their strongest run of the evening in round 2 to end up in 2nd place. They were the ‘missed it by that much’ team. Maybe, just maybe, if you could have hung around for Round 3…?
And in Round 3, with just one question left, Team Tim, had 1st place
Team Challenged - bar clowns
in his sights. Getting the 3 part Sesame
Street question was pure brilliance. And you were a team of one… imagine if you bring back up next week! Still a great showing!
And the return team, put everyone to shame. Angry Beavers scored perfect on the very last question to clinch 1st place in the 3rd round… I understand that being in debt was your saving grace for the last banking question. So that made it a clean sweep, first place for each round and, of course, overall.
We gave everyone warning to bring reinforcements next week so you
could give AngryB’s a run for their money.
Until next week,
Ciao for now – Keith

Alrighty, very eventful evening. First the questions were Sunday’s questions. Then there was the whole my battery dying in my computer (I just discovered computers are much cheaper than I thought they were, so your donations for a new one will go much further) . And then there was the whole scandal about who was first and who was second. Don’t worry folks, from now on teams that are seen talking a lot will now be considered one team. Here are some pics…

Technically this is the winner. But that is debatable. And his new teammates are not pictured. And this pic is not even from this week, I was not able to find him at picture time.

Technically this is the second place winner- also debatable. But I see Baked Mac and Cheese has a new member this week!

I cannot write your name correctly in these captions just so you know. For some reason I cannot use apostrophes when I attach words to the pictures. I just recently discovered this, so that is the reason my blogs used to look weird. Anyhow I am not L.L. Cool J, you came in third and that is not debatable.
Wheatridge…..you never know what you will get…. September 25, 2008

Have I mentioned before how much craziness can occur at the Wheatridge OC????? Well I never know what I am walking into until I get there that is for sure.
First and foremost the team names…..WOW!! This week was one for the records.
Taking round one and second place over all were the Things Younger than John McCain……….(you fill in the …….) They had some great fill ins of their own. A different one on every answer sheet they brought up. One of their teammates has been voiceless for over a month. Still no firm cure has been found, not even winning free beer. As you see his glass is empty.
Definatly coming in with one of the best names of the night if said correctly which I got told I did (yeah me) was Rubber Balls and Liquor. Read it how you will and take how you might, but they took the second round and 1st over all. So I see lots of liquor in their future and know I will see them next week.
The King Prawns Have Earned Their Crown September 25, 2008

It was a night for a few new teams. We also had a couple of regulars. And the middle of it all, there were like 60 middle aged folk eating dinner and reuniting. I’m not really sure why exactly they were there, but we had some people that were partaking in some food and beverages, but not trivia. That’s ok though, I’m sure that the older people’s wouldn’t know many of the questions from tonight. We had a lot of pop culture and current events. There was also a weird variety of musicals and music bands and even a question about drag queens.
Overall, our scores weren’t as high as usual. King Prawns, one of my regulars from a couple of locations finally won a game. They’re used to the fill in the blank style and really get caught up on some of the questions that are multiple choice. They sure knew Wu Tang Clan though, go figure. They explained to me that their name is from the Muppet’s. So in honor of Pepe, I quote “You tell him, and I will smack you. I will smack you like a bad, bad donkey, okay!” Thanks for playing ladies! Don’t forget to come back next week for more points, and well in two weeks for the championship. Maybe I’ll see you Tuesday, ready to watch a fight. (Pepe the King Prawn has his own myspace page, fyi).
They wore their team colors, but then left in shame when they lost. That’s What She Said played tough the first round, but wasn’t able to hold it during the second round. Maybe because a certain someone who called me a “nerd” sat at the table (he wasn’t wearing a white shirt). To remain diplomatic, I will not mention any names. So the ladies are trying to get some more spa packages before the championship, the guys, they don’t really get anything.
Jessticles was a new team tonight. They hadn’t played trivia at O.S.S. before. But I’m pretty sure they had a good time. Well, at least they said they did. I’m not really sure how they decided to head out to most casual bar in Washington Park, but I bet someone told them it’s the best place in town. The guys on the team complained that they feel “dumb” because the questions were pretty focused towards ladies. You guys did pretty good on the Wu Tang question though. They want some more science questions, but I bet the rest of the bar would disagree with them.
They did the switch-a-roo again. Kobra Kai starts as one guy and girl. Halfway though the game, the girl leaves and another arrives. Same guy stays and drinks. So since they didn’t win, maybe we should blame it on the common denominator, the male in the group. Oh not really, but it sounded like fun. They’re pumped and ready for the championship. It’s just an idea, but I think you all three should play for that game- it’s in two weeks.
Cajun Hot Sticks wouldn’t really tell me what their name was about. I guessed it was like Slim Jims, you know, those ground up and then shaped into a stick beef jerky things. They said it indeed was not. They did hint that it was something sexual though. Just in case some elementary school kid is reading this, I won’t mention anything else. But none of them looked Creole. Hmm…
A couple team didn’t play tonight. Staff Infection was busying being, well, staff. Hopefully they get to play next week, cause I have a feeling in two weeks, it’ll be pretty busy again. Short Bus, I just don’t know where you were. Jeff showed up to my Monday night trivia, but the girls didn’t show up to my Tuesday night trivia. And then none of them showed up to my Wednesday night trivia. What a disappointment!! Maybe it was your turn to win and you blew it! See you next week?

Ricoh here. The world returns to normalcy as N(e)2 takes top prize once again! Congrats to them, as we had some newcomers trying to take the crown.
Props to new teams Denko Steele, McLovin, and finally Deez Nuts, a team of all women who were trying to get me to help them all night..which was almost about to work.
But N(e)2 took the prize with 33 points, followed with rivals the Lone Rangers in 2nd with 30. Great 3rd round by those guys to get them back in contention. McLovin took 3rd and was stoked to get the bar tab!
We will see you guys next week, as always it’s a blast to host at Old C’s!
