Can I just tell you that I love trivia night at Charlie’s?!  In the past two and a half months, trivia night has been transformed into a pretty wild party!  The night usually starts pretty normal, but then half an hour in, we’ve got men ripping their own clothes off!  No- it’s not a strip show, you’re doing it for the half price drink specials.  (Half price domestic bottles and wells if you’re missing your shirt, or if you’re a girl in your bra).  At one point, we had about 10 people with their shirts off, one female included.  I tried to get her to trade me bras, she just wouldn’t though.  Good job on convincing the bartender to bare some skin!  We had a little chant going that worked wonders on the man behind the bar.

At the end of the game, I even got my own serenade of sorts.  Some how some of the regulars started making their own their own words to the song “We Will Rock You.”  It went something like this:  We love, we love, Triva…She will, she will quiz you… we love, we love Marci.  For yet another reason tonight why I love to host trivia for you guys!

The owner of Buzzwordz sent out an email a few weeks ago to all the hosts.  It was to the effect:  We want to be able to make trivia night the best night of the week for you and your customers.  Tuesday night is definately one of my better nights of the week!  To much praise for my wonderful players and bar staff!

If you remember from last week, we were celebrating my birthday.  I turned a year older on saturday.  Please don’t tell me I look older!  One of the female trivia players told me I’m 16- I’m gonna go with that.  Wait, I’m 16 and have a fake ID, so I can work at the bar, right?!  So tonight, we had three birthdays, yes, three.  All of us damed leosin one building, and there wasn’t a fight.  Lets see if we fit the leo profile.

I’m gonna have to say that does sound like me, I mean, well the social and creative parts.  Heh, and never full of myself

There was some funny joke where someone asked for extra credit.  I told you I wasn’t a teacher, but you could bring me apples.  But maybe what everyone didn’t know is… a round red fruit appeared on my table.  It was a hard (but organic) nectarine.  You suck ups!  Maybe even an appletini would have sufficed.

Our first place winner also took the prize for round three.  Men of Charlie’s and Scotty were so happy, that yes, they sang me a song.   No, I didn’t let them win because of the song.  They sang the song afterward, thank you very much.  So these guys are regulars who kinda float from team to team and rarely have the same team name two weeks in a row.  Hopefully y’all don’t have to work next week, and you can play again.  Enjoy Chicago guys!

The winner of round one also won the final tie breaker of the game and took second in the game.  King Prawns was celebrating the birthday of Andrew.  Happy birthday, you three day younger than me boy!  Oh, and thanks for the dance, as embarrassed as you were.  You’re right, Grover is blue.  My bad, ok, Jon’s bad.  I haven’t seen that show in over twenty years.  Oh, just blew my cover!

JT got the prize for third place, and also the pitcher from round two.  Tim is gathering people for his team and bribing them with beer. Ok, I don’t really know that, I’m making it up.  But the hair is still lookin’ good, don’t forget to get a trim before you have L-hair again.

We had lots of other teams that played and didn’t get any prizes.  I would give door prizes if I could.

Alleycat only had two, and sometimes three players.  You guys would have come in forth place if there was one.  I hope you guys made it to work on time!  Oh, and Jake, gelato is good whenever. Heh.

Raspberry joined the game a few questions into the game, but faired quite well.  They haven’t played trivia at Charlie’s before, but I really think they should play again next week.

A team that was sitting at the bar and watching the men in speedo’s gave answers a few times, Steelers.  If only their concentration was more on trivia, they might have swept the game!  But nearly naked men, I understand the dilemma.

We Must Be Emo, We Like Tacos, I’m glad you guys are back.  Their name is different every week, which keeps me on my toes.  Their name is from this tragically funny song called “The Emo Song.”  I found this song last year when my younger brother was feigning emo.  Here’s some lyrics for ya:

Rick threw in a couple answers late in the game, since he wasn’t here when we started.  Last time I saw him, he had 2 K’s in his name.  Where’d the other one go?

One of our regular teams, Shut Up and Drink dropped out pretty early.  They could have won round one, but really weren’t into the game, so didn’t turn in the last answer.  You guys just didn’t have the oomph tonight.

No Name, you came out of no where.  They started the game during the third round, but put up one hell of a fight.  They must have been thirsty and in need of some free beer.  The game starts at 8:30 next week guys, if you want to play the whole thing.

**NEWS FLASH**

I want to remind you guys of the LUAU PARTY NEXT WEEK.  Hawaiian shirts, flip flops, funky surfer shorts.  You name it.  We’re gonna be havin fun.  I told you last week it was coming!  We will have some activities and an extra special prize.
