With mini-tours being won in abundance, a packed crowd looked to TVs above to answer questions and maybe get some free stuff!
1st round went to Drunk Monkey after a tie-breaker with Last Place. This would foreshadow things to come.

Yeti and Snowman Prove Truly Indomitable February 4, 2010

We had a great crowd last night at City Pub! We had some new faces and some old mixing it up. It was all Yeti and Snowman however as they absolutely poured on the brainpower on the other unlucky trivia combatants.
True there were some extra credit available, but for a team to score 46 is an achievement for any trivia squad. These guys started early and did not let up. That’s not to say that the other teams were slouches, far from it. Samson’s Keepers took second, As Work Request took third, Potato Jam in fourth, single man team Oak Dog took fifth.
Have you guys heard about City Pub as Saints Superbowl Central? There will be $2.50 oors and Coors Lights with a free buffet and jello shots! Beat that if you dare. I’m going fo the ‘Aints!

In a capacity crowd, we played another epic game of Buzzwordz Trivia!
We had 5 teams go over 40 points, which is amazing!
In the first round, three teams had perfect scores (Cheating Cheaters, 2 young 2 old 2 ugly, Phred), and two more were only one point behind (Irish Banditos, CBM)! However, 2 Ugly took the free beer after the tie break.
In the second round, 2 Ugly ran away with the points, setting them up for a triumphant night.
The Cheating Cheaters showed why they win a ton of free beer here in the third round, with an impressive performance to not only take the round, but the game in one swoop!
1st Place – Cheating Cheaters
2nd Place – 2 young 2 old 2 ugly
3rd Place – Phred

Yo Mama’s Team won 1st overall, and would you know it….My mom was actually on that team. Yep, my mom finally came out to support me. Now I do not think she was much of a contribution to the team in terms of getting correct answers but she was definitely there for moral support. I’m just kidding mom!…But seriously
.
Anyways, another great night at 2 Brothers in Plano, TX. See you all next week on Tuesday, 8pm!!!!!!!
Trivia Crowd Pack into City Pub for Demolition January 29, 2010

A lot of times we go down to the wire at Buzzwordz Trivia. There are plenty of teams with equally matched brainpower. We’ve had tiebreakers for tiebreakers. Not so Wednesday evening at City Pub. Yeti and Snowman absolutely wrecked shop on all comers, winning by a margin of 15 points.
There were plenty of other teams there, but none could hold a candle to our champions. Awesome O’Possum took 2nd place in what would have normally been a pretty strong effort. Shootists took third, Stella fourth, Samson Keepers in fifth, with Turd Cutters and El Guapo closing down the ranks.
It’s great to see so many enthusiastic trivia people making the trip to City Pub. The food is great, the staff friendly, and you cann’t beat $3 martinis for a cheap buzz!
Weird Experience and Awesome Response Tonight at Two Brothers in Plano!!!! January 26, 2010

Of course, it was another great night at 2 brothers. Big up for Team Death Row taking the 1st, 2nd and 3rd round tonight. Weird thing happened tonight. I thought a team was trying to cheat me tonight. I thought they were taking me for a sucker. I kept getting 2 answers for the same question from what I thought was the same team, which was Team Short Bus. Once I noticed, I got on the Mic and called them out. They seemed confused. It turns out that there were two different teams with the exact same name: Short Bus. Pretty crazy huh? I don’t know if that has ever happened. Anyways, we figured it out. They were told apart by a couple of tweaks. Short Bus 1 and The Short Bus. So it was all good.
Pretty funny response tonight as well. The question was, “In the lame & fascist game Trivial Pursuit, original version, what categories were represented by the following colors?: blue, yellow, brown” Well, I think this person misunderstood the word fascist and took it for racist because her response was, “Blue: Avatars, Yellow: Asians, Brown: Mexicans” The crowd bursted out laughing. It is all good though. The girl that gave me that response was a Mexican so it’s not racist
Anyways, thats that. I will see you guys next week.

Crazy Tie Breaker At Two Brother’s in Plano Tuesday Night!!!! January 20, 2010
Posted by buzzwordz in Buzzwordz Trivia, DFW, II Brothers, Texas, Tim Ball.add a comment
Well, of course, tonight at Two Brothers was a great and fun success. We made history tonight (at Two Brothers anyways). For the first round we had a three way tie breaker. Believe it or not, that was not the cool part. The tie breaker came down between Beer Me, I’m Here for The Gang Bang, and Ramrod. The question was, “How many people currently have a Facebook profile? ” (basically) Anyways, team Ramrod was out after their guess because the other two teams were closer. So here is the cool part! Team Im here for the Gang Bang and Beer Me put the exact same answer: 100 million. This has never happened before since I had been hosting. So I decided that the two teams were going to do a Rock, Paper, Scissors tie breaker. They each picked their best player to represent for the team and I made them come dead center to battle it out. I told them it was best 2 out of 3. Funny thing is, they shot the exact same thing about 5 or 6 times in a row. It was pretty crazy. So I told them, “Screw that, we are doing best 1 out of 1.” Finally, team Beer Me got team Im Here for the Gang Bang with paper over rock. It was pretty intense. Team Im here for the Gang Bang got the last laugh when they won 1st over all with a close second team Ramrod Anyways, I thought I would share that with you all. I thought that was pretty cool. We had a great time and I hope to see all the old faces and some new faces next week at Two Brothers in Plano on Tuesdays at 8pm.

Ricoh here. We had a great night of trivia here at Old Chicago Thornton!
As always, the crowd was singing and yelling, and even a dance or two erupted during the course of the night.
The Irish Banditos took their first ever tie-breaker over Phred to win the first round.
A four-way tie had to be settled between Cass/Bet/Mark, LSU Two, Irish Banditos, and the round two winner – Cheating Cheaters!
The third and final round was a high scoring one, with four teams scoring over 20 pts. In the end, Cheating Cheaters took the tie break by correctly guessing to the decimal how many James’ there are in the USA!
Props to our other teams, Brew-n-Dew Crew, beer IQ, 3 Wise Men, Loners, Reggie’s Bush, and more!
When it was all over, the Irish Banditos took the 1st place prize by ONE POINT(!!) over Cheating Cheaters!
